Total number of Pounds Gleaned this Season

8/10/2012

11,770 lbs. as of 8/10/12

With the great help of volunteers, this is the total number of pounds we have gleaned so far this season. That's a lot of food!

Last week we gleaned 40.5 boxes of corn, with each box containing about 60 ears of corn. This may seem like a lot, but it was only half of the half of the field that was offered to us for gleaning! We had seven volunteers, Sue, Chuck, Zady, Twee, Jessica, Natalie, and Oakes. 2.5  boxes were delivered to the Albany Street Shelter in Cambridge, 5 boxes to the Pine Street Inn, 15 boxes to Rosie's Place, and 11 boxes to the Woods Mullen Shelter in Boston.

Thank you volunteers!
