Yesterday we welcomed the gleaning season at the farm on the Historic Gore Place in Waltham with some gorgeous weather and produce! What was supposed to be a very small trip with only two volunteers turned out to be a lot larger than we anticipated! Instead of gleaning the expected 8 boxes, we ended up with over 28 boxes stuffed with enormous, ripe and delicious bok choy. The weight of this produce is over 840 pounds, a wonderful and promising start to our gleaning season! We delivered to the Lexington Food Pantry, and Helping Hand and Food For Free in Cambridge. I hope you enjoy the pictures and will consider joining us on a gleaning trip this season!
