June 28, 2016
BAG Executive Director Duck Caldwell presented about gleaning--a wonderful way to help reduce waste on the farm--at Harvard's Reduce & Recover: Save Food for People conference. Hundreds of leaders in the food recovery field attended the two-day event.

Boston Area Gleaners was one of seven local nonprofits to receive honorary titles from the Massachusetts Nonprofit Network at the June 27th Nonprofit Excellence Awards. We were selected from a group of four outstanding small nonprofits during a competitive review process.

BAG Executive Director Duck Caldwell presented our work to a room of funders at the Social Innovation Forum's "Solutions for a Sustainable Community" conference in Boston on June 23rd.  Alongside seven other nonprofit leaders, Duck attended a two-month boot camp program to prepare for this presentation--and many more to come!

The segment on BAG includes interviews with our wonderful volunteers, our Executive Director, Duck Caldwell, and the Executive Director of our largest recipient agency, Sasha Purpura of Food for Free.

Boston Area Gleaners joined Governor Deval Patrick at The Food Project farm in Lincoln, MA on Oct. 24th, 2011, which is then proclaimed as
Massachusetts Food Day!
