Our Impact: Gleaning Stats
Since we were founded in 2004, we have gleaned over 470,000 pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables (nearly 15,000 bushels) from about 50 partner farms.
This is equivalent to over 1.8 million 4-ounce servings of healthy, local produce delivered to our neighbors in need.
Since 2012, we have been increasing the amount of produce we glean each year by over 50%, and in the 2014 season we gleaned twice as much as in 2013!
The most common crops we glean and donate include: apples, corn, winter squash, greens (such as kale, lettuce, collards, and asian greens), cabbage, and root crops (such as potatoes, carrots, and turnips.
